What I built
A car show site has an audience of three: people who might attend, sponsors who might back it, and the organizers who have to keep it running. Here is what the live site gives each of them. Counts are from the live pages, counted on 2026-10-04.
The show
A three-day VW-only car show and campout in Park City, Kansas, free for spectators. A weekend itinerary, and awards that are Top 25 plus 6 specialty awards, with no classes.
Legacy Award
The winning car themes the next year’s show. The home page explains how the award works.
Park Layout
A grounds map made of two to-scale sheets: one for the overall site and access, one for the event area in detail.
Sponsor pages
Five sponsorship tiers plus in-kind options, with the current sponsors shown by tier. No form and no login: the page is there to be read.
Galleries
670 photos from the 2026 show, plus 2025 and 2024 galleries. The 2026 photos are credited to Why We Drive.
Flyer maker
At /flyer: upload a photo of your VW, enter your details, and download a flyer for Facebook or Instagram. A plate-your-ride widget on the home page hands off to it. The page says nothing typed is sent anywhere.
Organizer dashboard
A password-protected page at /dashboard that shows the site’s live Google Analytics numbers through serverless functions. It is for the organizers only.
Registration
Wired to CarShowPro. As of 2026-10-04 the 2027 event page says registration opens later and the sign-up link will be announced.
Weekend details
Free spectator parking on site, dry camping Friday and Saturday, movie night both nights, a swap meet with no booth fee, a vendor market and Kids Korner.
Who it's for
The Great Plains VW Show is a three-day VW show in Park City, Kansas. I am on the show team, so I built this one from the inside, and it is the pattern I point to when I tell other events what a Showrunner site can hold: the schedule, the map, the sponsors, the photos and a tool people actually use.
The footer credits Showrunner. The sponsor pages are pages in the plain sense: tiers, in-kind options and the current sponsor list, there to be read.
